Love your pictures. Mitad del Mundo sounds fun and I would have loved to see the dancers. But when we were in Quito we went to Quitsato Solar Clock, northeast of Quito (just south of Cayambe). The Solar Clock is on the Equator. I got out my GPS app and it confirmed it. There is a small museum. But what was really entertaining to me was that the bathrooms had all the little posters debunking the egg thing and the Coriolis effect. Also, the people at this museum have different thoughts about how maps of the world should be orientated — with the equator running top to bottom on maps. Very interesting.
Thank you! I knew about Quitsato and I thought it was near Mitad del Mundo, so in my mind I would have done it together, of course I was totally wrong! Thank you for the interesting news! very cool!
Terrific photos as usual. Thanks for taking us along!
Thank you!!
