I only knew Minamata from the work of W. Eugene Smith and i saw the movie a few months ago. Very interesting to read about how the place has evolved after the disaster. Thanks!

What an amazing time you had, and as you said thank goodness for Google translator. I haven’t used it when travelling but a great companion whilst away. I will look forward to the continuing story next week. Great photos too by the way

I loved reading your account and your wonderful photos. I really want to visit Japan, but also not be a tourist but get to know Japanese people. Do you know if there are other or many volunteer things like this across Japan where you can meet and get to know Japanese people?

I volunteered on this farm in rural Japan (more north) and really loved it! https://ari.ac.jp/en/workingvisitor/

Thank you very much! yes there are still volunteer opportunities in Japan, that time I volunteered with SCI, you can find their volunteer camps here https://www.workcamps.sci.ngo/icamps/, I suggest you to check also worldpackes, there you can also find volunteer opportunities.
