Hiking Chimborazo
I’m writing from Ecuador, It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve been here and I will stay till mid-November. I’m in Riobamaba, the city where my girlfriend’s family live. Riobamba, located in the central highlands of Ecuador, is a charming city steeped in history and surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes. It serves as the capital of Chimborazo Province an…
A surreal last day in the south of Bolivia
Fernanda and I went on a 3-day tour to the salt flats in Uyuni. In previous posts, I talked about the first day and the Salar, where something very important happened and about the first and the second part of the second day where we visited several lagoons in Eduardo Avaroa National Park and saw thousands of flamingos. On the last day, we had to wake u…

A day of Lagunas
Fernanda and I went on a 3-day tour to the salt flats in Uyuni. I already talked about the first day and the Salar, where something very important happened. The tour was not only about this magical place but also the surrounding areas, including the Eduardo Avaroa National Park. The second day was intense, we visited several places, including volcanos, …
Something important happened in Uyuni
In La Paz, Fernanda and I booked a 3-day tour to Uyuni to visit the salt flat, and the area around it. To reach the city of Uyuni we did a night bus ride, on a super comfortable bus (bus cama). When we arrived at 6 am it was -8°C (18°F), and we had to wait for a ride to a coffee place because our tour would have started only at 10 am, but nobody appeared. As compensation for this inconvenience, the agency gave us a room in a hotel with breakfast where we had time to rest until the tour started.
La Paz is very cool!
From Copacabana on Titicaca Lake, Fernanda and I took a bus to La Paz, the ride was around 4 hours. We planned to pass by La Paz, but in the end, we decided to spend as much time as possible in this beautiful city. We spent there two days, one before and one after our tour to Uyuni, but it was enough to fall in love with it.
Titicaca Lake, between Peru and Bolivia
After some relaxing days in Cusco, Fernanda and I went south to visit Titicaca Lake, we took a night bus to Puno and there we took a trip to see the floating islands of Uros and the island of Taquile. After that, we visited the Bolivian part of the lake and the city of Copacabana.
More about Cusco
After the tour of the Jungle, I said goodbye to my flatmates, who continued their trip in Peru. I spent a couple of days alone in Cusco waiting for Fernanda, and another couple of days with her before leaving Cusco in direction to Bolivia. These days I didn’t do much, I wanted to relax and enjoy the city, I visited a couple of places and ate good food.
Welcome to the jungle
Last week, with my flatmates, I spent 4 days in the Amazon Jungle, more precisely in Manu National Park. We booked an organized tour from Cusco, which made us hike in the jungle, take boat trips, and see many different animals, like monkeys, birds, spiders, frogs, caimans and insects.
Cusco and the altitude sickness
I arrived in Peru when Fernanda had 2 free days, so I landed in Cusco, and I went immediately to Pisac where she was. I spent the first day there and the day after we went to Ollantaytambo, where she would spend the next two weeks working. It was beautiful to be together after more than a month apart, even if it was just for a couple of days. Being with…
